Questions

What is the password of an HDFC Bank statement PDF?

For account statements downloaded from HDFC Bank NetBanking, HDFC says the password is your numeric Customer ID.

Where can I find my HDFC Customer ID?

In the Welcome Kit sent when the account was opened, on the first page of your chequebook, passbook and account statement, or in NetBanking using your registered mobile number with your PAN or date of birth and an OTP.

Is the HDFC credit card statement password the same?

No. HDFC's own pages did not state the credit card statement password when checked; the email HDFC sends with the card statement explains it.

Is it safe to enter my Customer ID here?

It is used once, in memory, to open the file, and is never stored, logged or sent to the AI model. Nothing from the statement is kept after the result reaches your browser.

Can I convert an HDFC statement to Excel?

Yes. After the password opens it, every transaction is extracted, checked against the printed balances and downloadable as Excel or CSV.

The short answer

HDFC Bank's own help pages say: "The password is your Customer ID (CustID)" and "Use your numeric Customer ID as the password to open the statement." This applies to account statements downloaded from HDFC Bank NetBanking. HDFC adds that the same note appears on the statement download page when PDF is chosen, and in the download success message.

If the statement still will not open

Convert the HDFC statement to Excel or CSV

Once the password opens the file, DocFig reads every transaction and builds a spreadsheet: date, description, money out, money in and balance, with UPI, NEFT and IMPS references kept in the description. Each row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, and any row that does not add up is highlighted with the reason. Download an Excel workbook with real dates and numbers, or a UTF-8 CSV for import into accounting or budgeting software. See bank statement to Excel for the workbook details.

What happens to your Customer ID and statement

The Customer ID you type is sent over HTTPS with the file and used once, in memory, to open the PDF. It is never stored, logged or sent to the AI model, and nothing from the statement is kept after the rows reach your browser. Account numbers are masked before any text leaves the server. Every step is on the Security page.
