About DocFig
DocFig is a small suite of document tools. Each tool does one job, is named for that job, and shows its working. The first is a bank statement converter.
What DocFig does
Bank and credit card statements arrive as PDFs, which are made for reading rather than for working with. DocFig turns them into spreadsheets: one row per transaction, with the date, description, money out, money in and balance, as an Excel workbook or a CSV file. Then it checks the result against the statement's own figures, so you know whether the numbers can be trusted before you use them.
Who it is for
- Bookkeepers and accountants who receive client statements as PDFs and need the transactions in a spreadsheet or an accounting import.
- Small business owners and freelancers reconciling a month of income and expenses, or preparing figures for a tax return.
- Anyone managing household money: categorising a year of spending, building a budget, or gathering statements for a mortgage, rental or loan application.
How it works
You drop a statement, as a PDF or a photo. DocFig reads its text, using OCR for scans and photos, masks account and card numbers, and uses an AI model to identify each transaction. Every row is then tested against the running balance, the opening and closing balance and the page text. Rows that fail a test are highlighted with the reason. You review the table and download the file. There is no account to create, and the statement is not kept. The Security page describes every step.
The rules DocFig is built to
- Show the evidence. A result is only useful if you can tell when it is wrong, so every conversion says what was checked and what did not add up.
- Keep nothing that is not needed. No accounts, no stored files, no ads. One first-party cookie counts returning visitors, and it can be turned off.
- Say plainly what is true. Limits, outside services and known gaps are written down, not hidden.
What is next
More converters for related documents are planned, followed by DocFig Sign for simple e-signatures. Neither is available yet. To hear when Pro launches, with higher limits for regular use, join the waitlist on the converter page.
