The short answer
ICICI Bank's credit card FAQ says: "Your e-statement is password protected. The password consists of the first four letters of your name (as printed on your Credit Card, in lowercase) followed by your date and month of birth in DDMM format. The password is case sensitive and should not include spaces or special characters."

Building the password, step by step
- Look at the name embossed or printed on the card, not the name on your bank account. They can differ.
- Take its first four letters and write them in lowercase.
- Add your date of birth as two digits for the day and two for the month, with leading zeros.
- Type it with no spaces, dots or other characters.
| Name on the card | Date of birth | Password |
|---|---|---|
| ANIL KUMAR | 7 March | anil0703 |
| MEERA S IYER | 25 December | meer2512 |
Fictional names, shown only to illustrate the rule above. The year of birth is not part of the password.
If the statement still will not open
- Check the case. ICICI says the password is case sensitive and the letters are lowercase, so
ANIL0703will not work whereanil0703does. - Check the order: day first, then month. 7 March is
0703, not0307. - Use the name exactly as the card shows it. A shortened or different first name on the card changes the four letters.
- This rule is for credit card e-statements. ICICI's public pages did not state a password for savings or current account statements when checked; follow the email that came with those.
- After ten wrong tries on the same file, DocFig pauses that file for an hour to stop guessing.
Convert the ICICI card statement to Excel or CSV
Once the password opens the file, DocFig reads every transaction into a spreadsheet: purchases and fees as money out, payments and refunds as money in. The rows are checked against the totals printed on the statement, so a missed or misread line shows up before you download. Get an Excel workbook with real dates and numbers, or a UTF-8 CSV. See credit card statement to Excel for the details.
What happens to your password and statement
The password is sent over HTTPS with the file and used once, in memory, to open the PDF. It is never stored, logged or sent to the AI model, and nothing from the statement is kept after the rows reach your browser. Card numbers are masked before any text leaves the server. Every step is on the Security page.
