The short answer
Kotak Mahindra Bank does not publish its statement password on its website. The format reported most often is your CRN, the Customer Relationship Number Kotak uses to identify you. Type it as digits only.
One report says emailed statements can also be opened with the first four letters of your name in lowercase followed by your date of birth as DDMM, for example rahu0703 for a fictional Rahul born on 7 March. That comes from a single source, so treat it as a second guess.
Sources: CreditMantri ("Customer Relationship Number (CRN) serves as the password for your Kotak Bank statement PDF") and an account holder on the NoBroker forum ("password is your CRN"), checked 13 October 2026. These are reports, not a statement from Kotak.
Need it in Excel? Drop the locked PDF above, enter the password, and DocFig unlocks and converts it in one step.
How to find your Kotak CRN
Kotak's own help pages say: "You can know your CRN by sending SMS – CRN to 9971056767 or 5676788 from your registered mobile number." Kotak also says the CRN is printed on your Kotak debit card and in your Welcome Kit.

If the statement still will not open
- Send the SMS from the mobile number registered with Kotak; replies only go to that number.
- Type the CRN as digits only, with no spaces.
- Check the email. If it states a password rule, that rule wins.
- Kotak credit card statements may use a different password; the card statement email explains it.
- After ten wrong tries on the same file, DocFig pauses that file for an hour to stop guessing.
Convert the Kotak statement to Excel or CSV
Once the password opens the file, DocFig reads every transaction into a spreadsheet: date, description, money out, money in and balance, with UPI, NEFT and IMPS references kept in the description. Each row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, and any row that does not add up is highlighted with the reason. Download an Excel workbook with real dates and numbers, or a UTF-8 CSV for import into accounting or budgeting software. See bank statement to Excel for the workbook details.
What happens to your password and statement
The password you type is sent over HTTPS with the file and used once, in memory, to open the PDF. DocFig does not guess or try passwords for you; it uses only the one you enter. The password is never stored, logged or sent to the AI model, and nothing from the statement is kept after the rows reach your browser. Account numbers are masked before any text leaves the server. Every step is on the Security page.
