The short answer
IndusInd Bank's statement emails, published on its own website, say: "FOR INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNTS: Your 8 character password is a combination of the first 4 characters of your Name in Capital letters followed by your Date of Birth in DDMM format." They add: "As an alternate option, you can also use your 8 digit Customer ID as your password."

Two ways to open it
- Name and birth date. First four characters of your name in capitals, then your date of birth as DDMM. IndusInd's own examples include
ANIL0405andRAJM2502, the second for a name like Raj Mathur, where the letters run into the surname. - Customer ID. Your 8-digit IndusInd Customer ID, digits only.
For company and firm accounts, IndusInd says to use the first four characters of the account title in capitals followed by the date of incorporation as DDMM.
IndusInd says your Customer ID is on your statements, cheque book and welcome letter.

If the statement still will not open
- Use capitals only. IndusInd's emails say "UPPER CASE ONLY".
- The password is eight characters: four letters and four digits. Some sites claim DDMMYYYY, which contradicts IndusInd's own wording.
- Day first, then month: 7 March is
0703. - IndusInd credit card statements are a separate case. IndusInd's public pages do not state that rule, and reports disagree on upper or lower case, so follow the card statement email.
- After ten wrong tries on the same file, DocFig's converter pauses that file for an hour to stop guessing.
Convert the IndusInd Bank statement to Excel or CSV
Once the password opens the file, DocFig reads every transaction into a spreadsheet: date, description, money out, money in and balance, with UPI, NEFT and IMPS references kept in the description. Each row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, and any row that does not add up is highlighted with the reason. Download an Excel workbook with real dates and numbers, or a UTF-8 CSV for import into accounting or budgeting software. See bank statement to Excel for the workbook details.
What happens to your password and statement
The password you type is sent over HTTPS with the file and used once, in memory, to open the PDF. DocFig does not guess or try passwords for you; it uses only the one you enter. The password is never stored, logged or sent to the AI model, and nothing from the statement is kept after the rows reach your browser. Account numbers are masked before any text leaves the server. Every step is on the Security page.
