Which e-invoice tool do I need?
- You received an e-invoice and cannot read it. An XRechnung is an XML file, and a ZUGFeRD or Factur-X invoice hides its XML inside a PDF. The XRechnung viewer shows either one as an ordinary invoice and runs basic checks on the required fields and the sums. German version: E-Rechnung öffnen.
- You want to know if an e-invoice is usable. The e-invoice checker gives a verdict first: ready for a German recipient, problems found, or not an e-invoice under German law (ZUGFeRD MINIMUM and BASIC WL), with the VAT ID, IBAN and Leitweg-ID check digits. German version: E-Rechnung prüfen.
- You need to send e-invoices. Create a ZUGFeRD invoice from the PDF invoice you already write: the fields are read from the PDF, you check them, and you download a ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDF and an XRechnung XML. German version: E-Rechnung erstellen.
- You received an NF-e from Brazil. NF-e XML to DANFE PDF prints the DANFE, the document that travels with the goods, from the XML; one file or many. Portuguese version: XML para PDF (DANFE).
- You received Italian e-invoices. FatturaPA to Excel reads .xml and signed .xml.p7m files, many at once, into one workbook with a row per invoice, plus a CSV and a readable PDF. Italian version: Fattura elettronica in Excel.
- You received a Polish KSeF invoice. The KSeF invoice viewer opens FA(3) and FA(2) XML files as readable invoices with English labels, prints one or exports many to Excel, and works out the KSeF verification link. Polish version: Podgląd faktury KSeF.
- You want to know when e-invoicing becomes compulsory in your country: the EU e-invoicing mandate tracker lists the dates and rules for 30 countries, with sources.
What happens to your invoice
Every tool here runs in your browser. The invoice is read and, for the creator, the DANFE printer and the Excel export, the new files are made on your device; nothing is uploaded to DocFig or anyone else. The checks are a quick first look, not a full validation: for an official answer, run the file through the validator of the recipient or the KoSIT validator used for XRechnung.
In Germany, businesses must be able to receive e-invoices since 1 January 2025; issuing them becomes compulsory from 2027 for businesses with a turnover above EUR 800,000, and from 2028 for the rest. The tracker has the details for every EU country.
